Ralph Powell

Ralph Powell, 83, of Grove Hill, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Jackson Health Care Facility. He was born in Grove Hill on August 27, 1937 to Lonnis D. Powell and Etta Mae Gates Powell. He had been employed in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Thomasville. An outdoorsman, he also enjoyed driving his tractor, bushhogging and riding his four-wheeler. He loved spending time socializing with his many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ouida Black Powell and siblings, Clinton Powell and Billie Jean Powell.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Ann Powell, Lonnie Rex Powell; nieces and nephews, Brenda (Wayne) Pearson, Debra (Jerry) Foster, Tommy (Ramona) Powell, Sandy (Stan) Fendley, Wylynn (Greg) Dunegan, Brandy (Craid) Hoven and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville with the Rev. Renea Henderson officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Foster, Randy Gates, Wayne Gates, Wayne Pearson, Clint Powell and Thomas Powell.
