Ramona Guy

Ramona Guy, 76, passed away November 22, 2023, peacefully at her home. She was born October 8, 1947, to parents Elmore and Gladys Purvis Huggins in Jackson. She grew up in Coffeeville and later moved to Grove Hill. She did clerical work for many businesses around Grove Hill, but the work that rewarded her the most was helping at the nursery at Grove Hill Baptist Church, she was a member for over 50 years. She loved the children there and cared for them tenderly. She was a member of the Clarke County Beekeepers Association and supported the French Camp Academy in Mississippi. Ramona loved spending time in her garden and with her family.

Preceded in death by her husband John Charles Guy, parents, Washington Elmore Huggins, Gladys Purvis Huggins, and brother Donald Huggins.

Survived by her children John Stacy (Ashley) Guy, Renae (Lamar) Carpenter. Grandchildren Devin Harrison, Braden Guy, Matthew (Kimberly) Carpenter, Kyle (Kimberley) Carpenter, Jake Prati, Drew Prati, great grandchildren Kayden Carpenter and John Carpenter, her sister Rebecca (Jackie) Huggins Holliday, and a special friend of Ramona's, Winston Pruitt, also many nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.

The Pallbearers are Devin Harrison, Matthew Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter, Kayden Carpenter, Jake Prati, and Jason Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Prati, Jeff Pruitt, and the many nephews and great nephews whom she truly loved.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 25, 2023, 9:00 a.m.- 10 a.m. at Pineview Baptist Church in Thomasville. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery Grove Hill. Officiating will be Bro. Benny Harrison with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
