Reba Overstreet

Reba Jones Overstreet, 80, of Jackson died March 27, 2024. Reba was born February 11, 1944 to Johnnie Earl Jones Sr. and Eldred Bryant Jones. Reba had been a member of Evergreen Baptist Church for the majority of her life. She worked in the cafeteria at Jackson High School for 26 years, spending most of that time as the manager of the cafeteria. Reba loved to cook and was famous for her macaroni-and-cheese. She will be remembered by those who knew her as a strong, funny and feisty lady. Reba spoke her mind; she had little to no filter and you always knew where you stood with her. She loved intensely and those blessed to be loved by her were as dear as family to her.

Reba is survived by her sons, Keith Overstreet and Chris Overstreet; grandchildren, Justin Keith Overstreet (Emily), Haley Michelle Jackson (Mitchell), and C J Overstreet; great grandchildren, Brayden Keith Overstreet, Emma Collins Overstreet, Adley Jackson, Piper Jackson and Teagan Jackson; siblings, Margie Overstreet (Bonnie Ray), Sherry Krout, Johnnie Jones, Jr. (Brenda), Wayne Jones (Merilyn), Deanna Overstreet (Ronnie), Karen Anderson (Leo) and Larry Jones (Penny); brother-in-law, Fred Pringle as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Woodie Earl Overstreet; sister, Faye Pringle and brother-in-law, V. O. Krout.

Services will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral begins at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Cleon Kyles and Bro. John David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Chastain Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reba's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Shriner's.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Overstreet, Brayden Overstreet, CJ Overstreet, Mitchell Jackson, Russ Jones, Jarad Buck Jones, Freddie Pringle and Ron Overstreet.
