Richard E. Lambard, Jr., 79, of Gainestown, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at a family residence in Mobile. He was born in Butler on Tuesday, January 13, 1942 to Richard E. Lambard, Sr. and Barbara Jo White Lambard. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander having served 25 years, primarily aboard Polaris Submarine Tenders. He was also a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his large extended family. A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grove Hill, he enjoyed working on old tractors and raising cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Maureen Molloy Lambard of 43 years, Maxine Rush Lambard and brother, Judson Lambard, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Lambard; children, Charles (Paula) Lambard, Barbara (Phil) Winton; grandchildren, Laurie Lambard (Wesley) Hust, Ross Winton; stepchildren, Amy (Robert) Anderson, Ashley (Chuck) Pugh, Christine (Bliss Bailey) Shumock, Chris (Susan) Mitchell, Dr. Vicky (Dan) Adams; four great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; siblings, Tom Lambard, Sr. Mary (Leo) Hager and numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grove Hill with Father Travis Burnett officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Lambard Family Cemetery in Gainestown.
Pallbearers will be Ross Winton, Joe Bailey, Thom Lambard, Jr., Turner Lambard, Dwain McDonald, C.C. Myers, Gus Papis and Jay Papis.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Dickson, Bryan Myers, Daryl Wayne Myers, Boog and Sheila Tolbert, Kim and Jeremy Zirlott and family, Prentiss McDonald and Family, Fred Portis, Robin Williams, Teresa Stickradt, Brett Henderson, Scotland, Alex and Casey Kennedy, Duncan Curry and Anne McGarva and Family.
