Richard Stephen Gilpin

Richard Stephen Gilpin Jr., 41, passed away on January 4, 2023. Stephen was born March 21, 1981, to parents Richard S. 'Rip' and Charey Meitzler Gilpin. Stephen grew up in the Grove Hill area and graduated class of '99 from Clarke County High School. He loved the outdoors and football season, his favorite team was Alabama- Roll Tide! He cherished the time he spent with his family and he will be missed.
Preceded in death by his grandfathers JC Meitzler and Woodson Gilpin.
Survived by Heather Gilpin, children JC Gilpin, Hayden Gilpin, and Tyler Gilpin, parents Rip and Charey Gilpin, siblings Brandon Gilpin and Jeanna Gilpin, grandparents Fay (Irwin) Cooper and Betty Gilpin, nephew Riley James Rostas, also many other extended family and loving friends.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Jackson First Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services. Dr. Brian Jemison officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Online condolences may be shared at www.lathanfuneralhome.com
