Robert Hutto

Robert Neal Hutto, 83, of Grove Hill, passed away on March 24, 2025, at Mobile Infirmary. Mr. Hutto was born in Dickinson, Alabama on July 1, 1941, to parents T.V. and Marjorie Roberts Hutto. After high school, Robert married his loving wife, Martha McLean Hutto and later enlisted with the Alabama National Guard Reserves. He retired from Olin Chemical as an Instrument Technician. Following retirement, he was able to continue his love of the outdoors as often as he liked. Hunting, fishing and traveling were some of the things he enjoyed, as well as gardening and sharing what he grew with his neighbors and family. Most importantly was his family. Robert cherished every time they were together.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Dianna Harrison, grandson Caleb Harrison, and sister Carolyn Criswell.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Hutto, daughter Carla (Lonnie) Layton, grandchildren Ellen (Ernest) McCorquodale, Levi McLean Layton, Micah Neal Layton (Julianne), granddaughter-in-law Mary Owen Harrison, great grandchildren Emma Paul, Bo Paul, and Owen Harrison. Siblings Sammy (Marie) Hutto, Terry (Valda) Hutto, Nell (Charles) Hickson as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Levi Layton, Micah Layton, Jeff Sellers, Mark Criswell, Vic Hutto, and Chris Wimberly.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with a visitation one hour prior to services. Bro. William Allison will officiate and interment will follow with prayer by Rev. Ralph Wooten at the W.A. Smith Cemetery on Zimco Road.
