Robert "Mitch" Parnell

Graveside service for Mitch will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Old Tibbie Methodist Cemetery.

Robert Mitchell "Mitch" Parnell, 67, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on October 9, 2024. He was born on February 23, 1957, to J.C. Parnell and Mildred (Scott) Parnell and, after his mother's passing soon after his birth, he was lovingly raised by his father and J.C.'s second wife, Francis "Bebe" Parnell, who loved him as her own.

Mitch's kindness and generosity left its mark on everyone he met. He worked as an inspector in the construction industry for various engineering firms across the Gulf Coast. In his spare time he enjoyed leisurely drives, camping, Diet Mountain Dew, and spending time with the people he loved most. Both Puerto Rico and South Dakota held very special places in his heart.

Preceded in death by his parents, other relatives, and dear friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Derr (Kevin Derr) and Chelsea Parnell-Meek (Thomas Meek); their mother, Laura Wells Parnell; brother, Chuck Parnell (Vicki Parnell); sisters, Ann Parnell (Wayne Faile) and Deb McDaniel; nephews, Michael Parnell and Riley McDaniel; nieces, Angela Galloway and Kate McDaniel; close family, Bill, Judy, and Amy McElhatten; and several great-nieces, other relatives, and dear friends.
