Robert “Bob” Rowe Stewart of Jackson died at his home on July 6, 2019. Mr. Stewart was born October 22, 1942 to the late V. H. and Bernice McCorquodale Stewart. He was an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson where he regularly attended. Bob worked for over 50 years as a professional salesman and co-owner in his automobile business, Stewart Buick Company located here in Jackson. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Hunting Men for God. Throughout the years there were many interests that he enjoyed, like singing karaoke, shooting a game of pool, and restoring cars. He was also a regular at McDonald’s where he stopped for his morning coffee and breakfast with his morning crew, and of course, he thoroughly enjoyed talking on that phone of his!
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Kenneth Hopson Stewart, William E. Stewart. And his infant twin brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edna Stewart; daughters, Chrissy Stewart Wheless of Jackson, Gina Stewart Jackman of Miami, FL., and Andrea (Travis) Stewart Traxler of Charleston SC. Brother; Mac (Kathy) Stewart and sister-in-law; Peggy Stewart. Grandchildren; C. Adam (Lauren) Wheless, D. Christopher (Tara) Conway, Shelby Jackman, Ally Jackman, Wilks Traxler, Annie Traxler, and Virginia Traxler; and great grandchild; Ayden Jett.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of service at 10:00 am with Pastor Taylor Morgan officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
