Rodger Dean

Rodger Lamar Dean, 67, died August 5, 2023. Rodger was born July 14, 1956 to Russell Lee Sr. & Verna Ruth Dean. Rodger was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Leroy. He served the surrounding communities as a member of both Wagarville & Leroy Volunteer Fire Departments. His volunteer work spanned 43 years, many of which he served as Chief. Rodger spent his professional life working for Boise PCA where he retired in 2021 after 44 years. Rodger enjoyed photography and Mopar. He will be deeply missed and remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Rodger is survived by his wife, Dianne A. Dean; daughters, DeAnna Ezell (Trell), Rebecca Mitchell (Justin); step-son, Jason Dixon (Donna); grandchildren Cole Ezell (Katie), Sydney Ezell, Kaitie Mitchell, Kade Mitchell; step-granddaughter, Brianna Dixon; great grandchildren, Kinzlee Ezell and Tommi-Ruth Westlyn Hodge; brothers, Russell Lee Dean, Jr. (Amy) and Ralph Dean.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell Lee Dean, Sr. and Verna Ruth Dean.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Ben Posey, Bro. Dave Delegal and Bro. Chris Giles officiating. Interment will follow in New Leroy Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leroy Volunteer Fire Department.
