Roland Guy

Roland Joseph Guy "RG", age 80, of Laurel, MS was called to his heavenly home on December 4, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 12, 1943, to Eugene and Annie Lauria Guy in Jackson, AL. He graduated from Coffeeville High School and lived in Jackson until 1990 when he moved to Laurel, MS.

He loved the outdoors and being in the cattle industry. He also owned chicken houses, was an auctioneer, and made a name for himself buying and selling farm equipment and panels. He had an infectious smile and loved pulling pranks on people.

Roland was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Guy.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Adkins Guy; two daughters, Mary (James) Reaves and Ramona (Brent) Robinson; stepchildren, Cindy (Bryan) Jones, Crystal (Kirby) Haden and Kyle (Lauren) Adkins; and sixteen grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Finch, Larry Tolbert, Kolby Haden, Kyle Adkins, Joseph Adkins, and Kirby Haden.

Visitation will be on Saturday December 7, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jackson with a visitation one hour prior. Bro. Joe Bedwell will be officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
