Ronald “Ronnie” Postma, 72, of Chatom, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Washington County Nursing Home. He was born January 3, 1947 in Montgomery to Raliegh Theodore Postma, Sr. and Rosie Lorene Chase Postma. An avid fan of the University of Alabama football, he also enjoyed fishing and playing bingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Nonie Bell, Edna Walker, James Harold Postma and Raliegh Postma, Jr.
He is survived by his twin brother, Donald Robert Postma; sisters, Mary Pearson, Rosa Campbell; sister-in-law, Angie Postma; nephew, Jimmy (Tara) Postma and children, Hal, Jacob, Julia Houston and Eli Postma; niece, Jessica (Roland) McMillan and children, Hannah and Sarah McMillan and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Roland McMillan officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
A special thank you is offered to the staff at Washington County Hospital and Nursing Home for the excellent care provided during Ronnie’s fourteen-year stay at the facility.
