Roy O'Neal

Roy Laverne O'Neal, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on September 18, 2024. He was born in Yarbo, AL to parents Bud and Jesse O'Neal on October 16, 1938. Roy was a long-time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Roy served in the Aviation Division of the Navy from 1958-1967. He worked at AEC Power Generating Plant, Olin Chemical Company, Degussa Corporation, as a boiler inspector at Hartford Boiler, and safety coordinator with Triad Electric, later retiring from. Roy had many hobbies that he enjoyed doing, such as; woodworking, fishing, hunting, raising Blue Nose Pit Bulls and landscaping with his zero turn mower and vacuum unit. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, he belonged to Masonic Lodge #740 in Chatom and volunteered with Yarbo Fire Department.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Mae Young, Tommy O'Neal, Billie O'Neal, Peggy Kenyon, and Louise Belvin.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Stokes O'Neal; son, Patrick O'Neal of Jasper, Tx; daughters, Sherri (Tony) Stanford, of Clinton, MS., Lisa Allen, and Cindy Hayes; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sister Bonnie Riccetti of CA, brother Randy O'Neal of Chatom, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Patrick O'Neal, Tony Stanford, Austin Carter, Richard O'Neal, Freddie O'Neal, and Joe Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brady O'Neal and Eric Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Millry, AL on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 am with Bro. Travis Agee and Bro. Jim O'Neal officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
