Ruby Lee Lundy Anderson, 82, of Hobson, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Seaboard on Sunday, October 15, 1939. She had held several jobs while her husband was in the Navy, but she retired at Washington County Hospital as a nurse's aide. A long-time member of Hobson Assembly of God Church, she had served as a Sunday School teacher and had been a scout leader with the Washington County Cub Scout pack. She was an avid fan of the University of Alabama football team and enjoyed long walks and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Lundy, Bessie Parnell Lundy; daughters, Rita Faye Anderson Howard, Debra Lee Anderson and siblings, Inez Williams, Otto Lundy and Joe Lundy, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Norris Ray Anderson; grandchildren that she raised, Brad (Nikki) Jones, Jessie (Bennie, Jr.) Scarbrough; great-grandchildren, Bently, Jacob, Victor, William; great, great-grandchildren, Kolby, Maddy, Kolton; siblings, Jimmy (Sue) Lundy, Joanne Logsdon and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Hobson Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Steve Foster officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Hobson Community Cemetery behind the church with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Keith Baker, Butch Dees, Gerald Everett, Brad Jones, Vince Goldman and Wendell Singleton.
Jimmy Lundy and Stan Schaefer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
