Sadie Burgin

Sadie Patrick Burgin, 82, passed away April 9, 2025. Sadie was born January 6, 1943 to Iron and Irma Patrick. She was a graduate of Washington County High School as well as Livington University (which has since been renamed, University of West Alabama). Sadie met and married the love of her life, Jesse C. Burgin, and together they lived in many places including Ohio, Florida, Utah, Arizona, and Maryland before settling down in Acworth, GA where she worked at AT&T for many years. She and Jesse were known as a truly special couple who were deeply in love and devoted to one another. Upon her mother's death, Sadie and Jesse purchased her mother's home in Tibbie and Jesse began renovating it to prepare for her retirement near her family and childhood friends. Sadie returned to Tibbie to be with her beloved and resumed attending her home church, Chalker Memorial Methodist Church. After Jesse's passing, Sadie spent much of her time about town with her sister, Maude. They did just about everything together; if you saw one you were bound to see the other. When the stars aligned and Sadie's sisters, Peggy and Ruth, joined her and Maude their adventures became even more memorable. And if you were ever able to witness all the siblings gathered together you know there was no measuring the amount of love and laughter they shared. Sadie enjoyed the outdoors; tending her garden to encourage the butterflies and birds to visit so she could sit back and enjoy watching them flit about.

Sadie is survived by her sister, Peggy Patrick Brewer (Larry) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jesse C. Burgin; siblings, Ruth Patrick Howard, D. W. Patrick, Maude Patrick Taylor, and George W. Patrick.

Funeral services will be held at Chalker Memorial Methodist Church in Tibbie, AL on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral begins at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Holly Moralis officiating.

Sadie will be laid to rest in Buena Vista Cemetery in Buena Vista, GA next to her beloved husband, Jesse C. Burgin, at a future date.
