Sara Alene Brannen Lindsey, 66, of Elberta, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at University Hospital (formerly USA) in Mobile. She was born in Meridian, MS on January 10, 1955 to William A. Brannen and Alene Freeman Brannen. She was employed with NASDA as an enumerator and had previously worked in sales. A "people person" by nature, she was always the center of any activity and "never met a stranger." She was very outgoing and met new friends during her visits to casinos with her husband. She dearly loved her two dogs, Cocoa and Tanner and her cat, Sandie.
She is survived by her husband, Spidle Lindsey; son, Brock Hill; granddaughter, Haylen Olivia Hill; brother, Samuel A. (Jane) Brannen and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with the Rev. Scott Slayton officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Whatley Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Emmitt Adcock, Kenneth Chesnut, Jonathan Jones, Phillip Reynolds, Andy Slayton, Carey Slayton and Gary Smith.
Hank Florey will be an honorary pallbearer.
