Shelton Weaver

Shelton H. Weaver, 81, of Tibbie, passed away November 3, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1935 to Tom Daniel and Tiny Weaver. A hard worker, he retired with Brown and Root in 1997 and from Cleve Rivers Timber Company in 2010. He was also employed with Jody Rivers House Moving. He enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggert Ministries on television and believed in the motto "If you don't work, you don't eat!" and "If you don't quit, God won't quit!"


He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Virace Weaver and siblings, Bob Weaver, Don Weaver, Tom Jack Weaver, Ivory Weaver, Albert Leo Weaver, Zieman Weaver, Caroline Morris, Tiny Bell Manuel and Jesse Mae Rivers.


He is survived by his wife, Laura Weaver; children, Bruce Weaver, Neal Weaver, Janice Green, Taylor Weaver, Caroline Weaver, Michael Weaver, Emily Weaver; siblings, Elvis Presly Weaver, Voncille Herlong, Martha Ann Sullivan; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be conducted at Magnolia Church, McIntosh, AL at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
