Sophia McMullen

Sophia S. McMullen, 79, passed away on June 16, 2023, peacefully at her home. Born October 16, 1943, to parents Garrett and Josephine Stanley in Jackson, Alabama. Sophia worked as an LPN for Jackson Health Care after having worked for the Clarke County Board of Education and Vanity Fair. Sophia was a woman of God and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.

Sophia is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard P. McMullen, Sr., Brother Melvin Stanley, sisters Maxine Williams, Doris McKee, Dorothy Stanley, and Sarah Stanley.

She is survived by her daughter, Lyne (Steve) Warnock; son, Richard P. (Sandra) McMullen, Jr.; grandchildren Matthew (Becky) Warnock, Jennifer (Kyle) Gilligan, Michael Warnock, Jami (Brandi) Lipsey, Meg (Rodney) Jordan and James (Hannah) Osborne; great grandchildren, Cooper Henson, Callie Jordan, Callahan Gilligan, Delilah Osborne and Palmer Gilligan.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 in Trinity Memorial Gardens at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Brian Jemison officiating.
