Stepehn Shoultz

Stephen Ray "Steve" Shoultz, 58, of Jackson, passed away December 10, 2016 in Opelika. He was born July 6, 1958 to John Leonard Shoultz and Dessa Rebecca Atchison Shoultz. A devoted servant, he loved doing for others and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He served as the chief for the Salitpa Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dawn Shoultz; children, Randall (Jennifer) Shoultz, Jeremy Wilson, Christopher (Anna) Shoultz; siblings, John (Ruby) Shoultz, Joe Shoultz and grandchildren, Madi Shoultz, Maci Shoultz, Hailey Wilson, Brysun Wilson, Bransun Wilson and Emelia Grace Shoultz.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Stave Creek Baptist Church of Jackson with the Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at River Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stave Creek Baptist Church Building Fund or the Salitpa Volunteer Fire Department.



Active pallbearers will be Neal Grimes, Mike Brown, Clausell Boykin, Scott Smith, Keith Harrell, Jeff White, Oscar Rodriguez and Bobby Smith.



Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Salitpa Volunteer Fire Department.
