Straughter J. “Butch” Dungan, 67, of Millry, passed away May 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 7, 1952 in Leakesville, MS to Rue Merrill Dungan and Margaret Harris Dungan. A self-employed logger, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and watching The University of Alabama football.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Gayle Loper Dungan and brother, Arlin Dungan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dungan; children, Jeremy Dungan, Ray (Nikki) Dungan, Rebecca (James) Stallings; grandchildren, Jacob Dungan, Tristan Dungan, Katelynn Freeman, Brodie Dungan, Walter Stallings, Isaiah Stallings, Baine Taylor; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Dungan, Avery Dungan; siblings Evonne (Al) Ricouard, Roy Dungan, Lee (Sarah) Dungan, Jay Dungan, Johnny (Debra) Dungan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Yarbo Assembly of God in Yarbo with the Rev. Greg Morris officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Robert Dearmon, Tommy Dearmon, Billy Joe Dearmon, Scotty Thompson, Wayne Goldman, Lamar Dungan, Stacy Atchison and Jimmy McIlwain.
