Stuart Craig DuBose, 63, of Jackson, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born in Jackson on March 20, 1957 to Melton DuBose and Patricia Ryser DuBose. He earned an undergraduate degree from Auburn University and then earned his Juris Doctorate at The University of Alabama. He was an active member at Stave Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed many hobbies, including both deer and turkey hunting, auto and boat racing, chess and was a talented sketch artist.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Elizabeth DuBose.
He is survived by his parents; wife, Ruth DuBose; children, Caroline D. (Michael) Bedwell, Clara DuBose, Amy D. (Ronnie) Ridlon; grandchildren, Olivia Hartley, Russell Blacksher, Carson Blacksher, Robert Bedwell, Evelyn Blacksher; brothers, Lem DuBose, Mel DuBose and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Stave Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Andy Goode officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the DuBose Family Cemetery located on York Lane in Jackson. Lathan Funeral Home will be directing the service.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bedwell, Ronnie Counselman, Richard Harvey, Michael Howell, Michael Howell, Jr., Derek Ryser, Steve Weller and Britt Wilson.
Members of the Jackson Academy Class of 1975 will be honorary pallbearers.
It is requested that those who attend the service wear a face mask.
