Sybil Shepherd

Sybil G. Shepherd, 70, of Coffeeville, passed away December 18, 2023, at Mobile Infirmary with her loving family by her side. She was born in Butler, Alabama on July 11, 1953, to parents James Herman and Letha Mae Doggett Giles. She was raised in Silas, she graduated from 20th Century Business College in Mobile and later moved to Coffeeville where she worked at the Coffeeville High School. She loved her church and church family. She married her husband Mickel Shepherd and she raised a wonderful loving family, she cherished the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. Her sisters will miss the 'sisters week' that they spent together every year, for the past 26 years.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Giles, sister-in-law Sharon Davis.

Survived by her husband of 51 years Mickel Shepherd, daughters Shonda (Shannon) Gardner and Carman (Mark) Atchison, grandchildren Logan Gardner, Aidan Gardner, Naomi Atchison, Ella Atchison, and Orrin Atchison. Siblings Imogene Beard, Devon Gibson, Grace Pilot, Leon (Donna) Giles, Alice (Jerry) Higgins, Glendine McCarty, Patsy (Buddy) Cotten, and Ronnie Giles. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Rodger Lee, Jonathan Lee, Jacob Lee, Zachary King, Jeremy Houston, Ronnie Giles, Daffin Hodge, Steve Moore.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sybil's name to the Coffeeville Baptist Church, where she was the Church Treasurer for many years.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Coffeeville First Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services. Bro.
