Tilford Lankford

Tilford Wayne Lankford, 72, of Chickasaw, passed away December 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1945 to William Harry and Ludie Tarver Lankford. He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Leroy. An avid fisherman, he also loved people, especially his family.



He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Helen Lankford, Gladys Foster, Vera Foster and Betty Merle Keith.



He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Lankford of Chickasaw; children, Timmy (Dianne) Lankford of Malcolm, Thomas LaMont of Chickasaw, Lee LaMont of Chickasaw, Tammy (Lee) Nichols of Malcolm; siblings, Billy (Peggy) Lankford, Jeanette Perry, Jimmie Griffin, Kate (Joe) Johnston; grandchildren, Cody (Amy) Nichols, Kamary (Derek) Gibson, Danielle Lankford, Jenna Lankford, Jaceigh Jarrell, Taylor (Sydney) LaMont, Tori LaMont, Jayme LaMont; great-grandchildren, Bryce Nichols, Emylynn Gibson, Avery Lane LaMont, Alivia Lillian LaMont and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Revs. Tim Sullivan and Jennifer Gregory officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Stephens Baptist Church with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Steve Griffin, Allen Keith, Josh Perry, Dusty Johnston, Denny Johnston, Keith Perry, Roger Dean and Justin Evans.



Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Steve Foster, Chester Gregory, Earl "Nick" Nichols and Jimmy Norred.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wagarville Baptist Church Building Fund.
