Tommie Chastain

Tommie Henley Chastain, 96, of Jackson passed away March 30, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 25, 1920 to Thomas Thurman Henley and Ida Corley Henley. She was a member of Jackson First Baptist Church and the Jackson Garden Club. A devoted homemaker, she was a cherished member of her family who will miss her loving presence.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dock L. Chastain, Jr.; son, Jerry L. Chastain and brothers, Walter Henley, Joe Henley, Frank Henley and Irby Henley.



She is survived by her son, David H. (Janet) Chastain; grandchildren, Jerry L. Chastain, Jr., Joseph Dock Chastain, Elizabeth Chastain Johnson; six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lynda Bolen Chastain and sister-in-law, "Boots" Henley.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Jackson with the Rev. Brian Jemison and Dr. Ben Stubblefield officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Jerry Chastain, Jr., Dock Chastain, Mac Henley, John Chastain, Harold Chastain, Elwood Overstreet and Butch Perkins.
