Walter Wayne White, 79, of Chunchula, passed away April 29, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born September 16, 1938 to Fernward "Bo" Foster White and Anne Mae Lee White. His hobbies included camping and fishing in his younger years, and he grew to love large equipment such as bulldozers, tractors and backhoes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards. He will be remembered as a strong, hard-working and honorable man.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Frances (Morris) Moore and Joe (Nell) White and grandson, Aaron Byrd.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Roberson; daughters, Sherry (Alie) White, Shlynn (Bob) Curry; step-children, Gina (Mark) Byrd, Vickie (Clyde) Miller, Robbie (Terri) Roberson, Billy Joe (Michelle) Roberson, Phillip (Joy) Roberson; sister, Nancy (Chester) Vrocher; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on May 3, 2018 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Renea Henderson officiating and Joe White offering the eulogy. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Perry's Chapel Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Roberson, Billy Joe Roberson, Phillip Roberson, Joy Roberson, Joe White, Dylan Byrd, Walt Vrocher, Phillip Roberson, Jr., Shawn Claxton and Justin Leonard.
