Wayne Steve Woodyard

Wayne Steve Woodyard, 68, passed away on March 16, 2024. He was born on April 20, 1955, to his parents George Robert Woodyard, Sr., and Rachel Sullivan Woodyard.

Steve attended church at Walker Springs Baptist Church. He was a very sociable guy, and he was always joking and cuttin' up. His was affectionately known at The ARC as "Woodstick". Steve loved to play his guitar and was very good at it. He loved old country music, especially Hank Williams, Sr.

Steve is survived by his two brothers John R. Woodyard, Sr. And Raymond Woodyard and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Steve is predeceased by his parents and his siblings Mary Lee Smith, Barbara Roberts, Rudolph Woodyard, George R. Woodyard, Jr. and Benny Woodyard.

Services for Mr. Woodyard will be on March 20, 2024 at Lathan Funeral in Jackson at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to services. Brother Bill Dortch officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leroy.

Active pallbearers will be Mathew Woodyard, John Woodyard, Jr., Dillon Woodyard, Dalton Woodyard, Curtis Woodyard and Eric Woodyard. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Spence and his dear friends at The ARC of Clarke County and the devoted staff who loved him dearly.
