William Clarence Harper, 83 of Jackson, AL passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022, at home surrounded by family. He was born October 11, 1938, to John & Lula Mae Harper of Coffeeville, AL. William graduated from Coffeeville High School in 1957 and later attended Patrick Henry Junior College and the University of South Alabama. He served in the Air Force Reserve for several years.
William was a faithful member of the Jackson church of Christ where he served as a deacon and an elder for many years along with being a teacher and song leader.
William enjoyed spending time with his family and being in the outdoors. Especially feeding the deer and the birds in his yard every day and watching them.
William was employed by the local paper mill for 35 years. He enjoyed working there and would readily tell people that.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Faye Howell Harper, daughter Kim Holt (Stacey), son Drew Harper and very special granddaughter, Dani Holt and many nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruth Grace Harper, Vernell Rush, Johnnie Mae Patrick, Leta Ray Woodham and Nancy Harrison, two brothers, Frank Harper and Woodie Harper.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 4th, 2022, at Jackson church of Christ. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm followed by the 3:00 pm service. Burial will be held immediately following at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Walker Springs Road. Bro. Stacey Harrell and Bro. Jason Gamble officiating, Tim Jones directing music.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Harrison, Arness Knowles, Philip Woodham, Ronald Rush, Kenny Reeves and Michael Howell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Deas, Coffeeville High School Class of 1957 and Allied/Boise Retirees.
