William Wade Henson passed away peacefully in his home on April 25, 2023 with his daughter Lori at his side.
He was born in Hawthorn, Alabama, to Dan Jelks, Sr and Frances Estelle (Furr) Henson. He was the youngest of 5 siblings: three brothers and one sister.
William Wade was called to preach at an early age and was baptized in Lewis Creek. He preached his first sermon at the age of 13 in the old historic Washington Baptist church of Hawthorn Alabama.
He attended and graduated from Leroy High School in Alabama, William Carey College in Mississippi, and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisiana.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Ella Jo-ann Henson, parents Jelks and Estelle Henson, brothers Dan Henson, Kenneth Henson, Frank Henson, and sister Peggy Henson Miller.
William Wade Henson is survived by his daughter Lori Henson, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 29th 2023 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson Alabama. Visitation is 10 to 11 am. Service is at 11:00am. Internment will follow the service in Hobson at the Jones-Beech Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Pace, Terry Murphy, Chris Henson, Jason Henson, John Beech, and Clay Gilbertson.
