Wilmer Mcniel

Wilmer Brunson McNiel, 88, of Jackson, passed away Friday, May 12, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Grove Hill on Wednesday, March 21, 1934. An active member of Jackson First Assembly of God Church, she was a retired caregiver and faithful contributor to St. Judes and Shriners Hospital. She enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Jackson Nutrition Center and had a tremendous love for gospel music. She frequently attended gospel singings at numerous churches in the area. She also loved flowers and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Brunson, Lucy Brooks Brunson; husbands, Jonah Roberts, Coma Bedwell, Marshall McNiel; granddaughter, Eva Roberts; sisters, Margaree Roberts, Gwenalee Ott; nephew, Bobby Roberts and special friend, Leon Cox.
She is survived by her son, Cecil (Amy) Roberts; grandchildren, Haley Roberts, Jonah Roberts; nephews, Richard (Linya) Roberts, Charlie (Jane) Roberts, James (Carol) Roberts, Roy (Diane) Roberts, David (Kathy) Roberts and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Jackson First Assembly of God Church with the Revs. E.C. Russell and Kevin Lewis officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Coffeeville with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Long, Charlie Roberts, David Roberts, Jonah Roberts, Roy Roberts and Wayne Savage.
Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers, Tonya Anderson, Jane Roberts, Shelly Vallee and Cindy Warren.
