Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Dumas, age 77, died December 13, 2022, at Providence Hospital in Mobile. He was born May 2, 1945, to Woodrow Wilson Sr. and Etta Ree Goodwin Dumas. Woody graduated from Clarke County High School. He was introduced to the oil industry by his two brothers, Royce and Tommy. He worked hard and loved the diversity - each day was unique and different. Learning and working hard through each step of his career, he became a regional manager of an oil service company and was a member of the American Petroleum Institute (API). After many years in the oil industry he grew tired of the company mergers, company buyouts, etc... His independent nature and entrepreneurial spirit lead to a career change: cross country trucking. He learned the business working for a family with many years of experience in Baldwin County. Soon after, he owned and operated his own company, "Woody Dumas Trucking" for 10 years. He always provided well for his family.
Woody is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pauline H. Dumas; children, Michele Hendley, Poppy Dumas, Paul Woodley (Debbie) Dumas, and Candace (Matt) Bowlus; grandchildren, Steven Tyler (Hannah) Riehl, Brooke Hendley, Brittany Hendley, Karolyne Dumas, Kendon Dumas, Jackson Bowlus and Evan (Sayde) Miller; great grandchild, Watson Riehl, and sister Maxine Larson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Royce Dumas and Tommy Dumas and granddaughter Gracie Miller.
Pallbearers will be Terry Simpson, Wayne Dumas, Tyler Riehl, Simeon Stringer, Craig Hare, and Van Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Union Baptist Church men's Sunday School class.
